MUSCAT: The Public Services Regulatory Authority will hold its annual media meeting next Tuesday (March 31) to review its key achievements and future plans across regulated sectors, including electricity, water, sanitation and sustainable energy.


The meeting will present a comprehensive review of projects completed under the Tenth Five-Year Plan, highlighting their role in improving service efficiency and reliability. It will also outline projects planned for the Eleventh Five-Year Plan, focusing on regulatory development, operational performance, energy transition and national workforce empowerment in line with Oman Vision 2040.


Presentations will also cover major operational and technical projects undertaken by companies under the Authority’s supervision, including infrastructure expansion, network modernisation and service quality enhancements. Initiatives to strengthen localisation and build national capabilities will also be highlighted.


Dr Mansour bin Talib al Hinai, Chairman of the Authority, said the annual meeting serves as a strategic platform to showcase achievements and communicate future directions. He noted that the Authority operates within an integrated regulatory framework aimed at improving efficiency, innovation and sustainability while safeguarding consumer interests.


He added that ongoing efforts focus on enhancing legislative and supervisory tools, supporting investment in regulated sectors, and promoting technological adoption. The meeting also reflects the Authority’s commitment to transparency and effective communication, reinforcing its role in supporting national development and ensuring sustainable service delivery. — ONA
