

AL RUSTAQ: The number of commercial registers in Al Batinah South Governorate rose by 7.4 per cent to 3,396 during 2025, compared to 3,163 registers in 2024, bringing the total number of cumulative commercial registers to 28,669 by the end of 2025.
Tarik bin Nasser al Harrasi, Director of the Department of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion in Al Batinah South Governorate, said that, during 2025, the Wilayat of Barka topped the list of new commercial registers (2,490), followed by the Wilayat of Al Rustaq (377), the Wilayat of Al Musannah (320), the Wilayat of Nakhal (95), the Wilayat of Wadi Al Maawil (63) and the Wilayat of Al Awabi (51).
Al Harrasi pointed out that the rise in number of commercial registers reflects the diversity of economic activities in the wilayats of the governorate.
Al Harrasi added that, during 2025, the Al Batinah South Governorate registered 39,265 commercial licences, bringing to 93,692 the cumulative number licences, said Al Harrasi. This, he said, affirms the rise in commercial activity and enhances the confidence of investors and entrepreneurs in the services extended to them.
As many as 3,851 industrial licences were issued during 2025, bringing the cumulative number of such licences to a total of 12,626 by the end of 2025, said Al Harrasi.
He pointed out that the Wilayat of Barka topped the list of new industrial licences (with 2,178 to its credit), followed by the Wilayat of Al Musannah (615), the Wilayat of Al Rustaq (557), the Wilayat of Nakhal (237), the Wilayat of Wadi Al Maawil (169) and the Wilayat of Al Awabi (95). — ONA
