IndiGo, India's largest airline, has introduced a fuel charge on domestic and international routes, from March 14, 2026.
A fuel charge of 900 rupees will be levied on international flights to the Middle East, including Oman, while rupees 420 rupees will be levied on domestic routes within India.
IndiGo operates flights to Muscat from several Indian destinations.
The airline said, "This measure is taken due to the significant surge in fuel prices following the ongoing geopolitical issues in the Middle East. IATA's Jet Fuel Monitor indicates an 85+% increase in fuel prices for the region."
Aviation Turbine Fuel represents a significant share of airlines' operating costs. This sudden and steep increase will have a material impact on all airlines' costs and networks, including IndiGo's, the airline said.

Starting March 14, 2026, at 12.01 am, overall prices for all new bookings on IndiGo flights will include the following additional Fuel Charge, per sector.
IndiGo said it will continue to monitor the situation and make relevant adjustments as and when appropriate.
Air India on Tuesday announced a phased expansion of fuel surcharges on both domestic and international routes.
For flights to the Middle East, the fuel surcharge will be $10.
Air India Express will not apply any fuel surcharge on its flights for now.
