

Muscat: In celebration of the upcoming blessed Eid Al-Fitr 1447 AH, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Labour have issued directives to expedite the payment of salaries for March 2026 across both public and private sectors.
The Ministry of Finance issued Circular No. 1/2026 regarding the early disbursement of salaries for employees of the State’s Administrative Apparatus.
To facilitate this, the Ministry has set the following deadlines for government units:
- March 8, 2026: Final date for entering data into the Human Resources systems by various ministries and government entities.
- March 15, 2026: Final deadline for reviewing and approving salary payment vouchers within the Unified Financial System by internal audit units.
- March 17, 2026: Official date for the disbursement of March salaries and pensions.
Parallel to the government announcement, the Ministry of Labour issued a circular addressed to all private sector establishments governed by the Labour Law (Royal Decree No. 53/2023).
The Ministry has mandated that employers expedite wage payments for the month of March, requiring that salaries be deposited no later than Wednesday, March 18, 2026.
The Ministry of Labour emphasized the importance of compliance with these dates to support the financial stability of the workforce during the holiday period
