AL AWABI: The annual ‘Al Tahloola’ event was held in the Wilayat of Al Awabi, Al Batinah South Governorate, marking the mid-point of the holy month of Ramadhan. The event celebrates a long-standing Omani tradition aimed at nurturing spiritual habits and community participation among young people.

Al Tahloola encourages children to recite prayers, supplications, verses from the Holy Quran, and Prophetic traditions under the guidance of a leader who directs the recitations.

Participants then walk around the neighbourhoods, repeating the prayers and bringing the blessings of the holy month to the community.

Organisers said that the event not only strengthens religious and cultural ties but also fosters a sense of solidarity and spiritual engagement among the younger generation, keeping ancient Omani Ramadhan customs alive. — ONA
