After a critical review of the prevailing situation in parts of the Middle East (Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE), the CBSE Board has taken the following decisions:

Class X

For Class X all examinations scheduled from 07.03.2026 to 11.03.2026 stand cancelled. Examinations scheduled on 02.03.2026, 05.03.2026, and 06.03.2026, which were earlier postponed, shall also stand cancelled.

The mode of declaration of results for Class X candidates in the Middle East will be notified separately in due course.

As for Class XII examinations, the examination scheduled on Saturday, 07 March 2026, has been postponed. Revised dates will be announced later.

The Board will review the situation on Saturday, 07 March 2026, and issue appropriate directions regarding examinations scheduled from Monday, 09 March 2026, onwards.

Class Xll

All Class XII students have been advised to remain in close contact with their schools and follow official announcements carefully.

Speaking to Observer, Syed Ahmad Salman, Chairman of the Indian School Board of Directors, said, "It is a good decision and we welcome the decision taken by the CBSE."

He said students and parents of Class X are breathing a sigh of relief as the delay was giving way to rumours, and in many cases students' stress levels were increasing due to anxiety.

For class XII board exams, the decision to cancel or postpone will be taken a little later on the 7th of March.

"If the decision is taken in the affirmative, we are fully prepared to conduct the examinations," he concluded.

There are more than 22 Indian schools located in various parts of the Sultanate of Oman.
