MUSCAT: The Office of Majlis Ash’shura held its tenth regular meeting of the third ordinary session of the tenth term (2023-2027), under the chairmanship of Khalid bin Hilal al Maawali, Chairman of Majlis Ash’shura, in the presence of Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed al Nadabi, Secretary-General of the Majlis Ash’shura, on Tuesday.


The Office reviewed the agenda for the council’s twelfth regular session of the third ordinary session of the tenth term. It also reviewed the first quarterly report on the activities of the standing committees from November 2025 to January 2026, including the most prominent topics and draft laws that were studied and finalised.


The Office reviewed several reports prepared by the council’s standing committees regarding requests to government officials and ministerial responses to parliamentary questions submitted by the council’s members. The ministerial responses discussed included that of the Minister of Education regarding the issue of the distance learning graduates at the College of Sharia Sciences on daily wage employment in government schools.


Also reviewed was the response of the Minister of Economy to an inquiry regarding development projects in all governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, including details of the governorate development programme projects for the years 2021-2025.


The Office of Majlis Ash’shura also reviewed a parliamentary question submitted to the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning regarding the ministry’s electronic services and land distribution initiatives, as well as the inquiry submitted to the Minister of Labour regarding the Ejada system.
