The U.S. State Department said on Tuesday it has ordered the departure ‌of non-emergency U.S. government personnel and family members ‌from Bahrain, Iraq, and Jordan.

The order comes as the ‌U.S. monitors security risk ‌linked to its conflict with Iran.

The US Embassies in Riyadh and Kuwait have been temporarily closed.

The US Embassy in Muscat said that the alert issued on March 1 remains in effect.

"The U.S. Embassy in Oman has lifted the shelter-in-place order for all areas of Oman except for the city of Duqm and immediate environs and a 100 km radius around Salalah. U.S. Government personnel are prohibited from traveling to these areas. Those located outside of these localities should limit travel to the designated areas. The security situation remains fluid and could change at any time."
