MUSCAT: Muscat Municipality conducted a field survey of car parks as part of the Muscat Governorate Traffic Study 2025.
The survey aimed at assessing the efficiency of car parks at various vital locations within the governorate to develop practical solutions that contribute to improving traffic flow and enhancing the quality of services provided to the community.
The move is part of the municipality’s efforts to develop the urban transport system. Modern technologies, including drones, were utilised in the field survey to ensure high accuracy and to provide comprehensive data analysis.
The total area surveyed using drones is approximately 1,252 square kilometres. The survey covered an area of up to 6 square kilometres in each location, with the survey repeated six times daily between 7:00 am and 9:00 pm. Monitoring operations were conducted every 15 minutes to ensure the highest levels of accuracy in data collection.
