"We have finished the day after significant progress in the negotiation between the United States and Iran. We will resume soon after consultation in the respective capitals. Discussions on a technical level will take place next week in Vienna. I am grateful to all concerned for their efforts: the negotiators, the IAEA, and our hosts, the Swiss government," Sayyid Badr said.
Iran's Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi said that after long hours of talks with the US, 'good progress' was made and that on some issues, both sides came to a 'close understanding,' while some differences remain in certain areas.
"We’ve been exchanging creative and positive ideas in Geneva on Thursday, and now both US and Iranian negotiators have adjourned for a break. We’ll resume later today. We hope to make more progress," Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr al Busaidi posted in his X account earlier in the evening.
The Foreign Minister had held meetings in Geneva with the US President’s Envoy, Jared Kushner, as part of ongoing consultations linked to the indirect negotiations between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran, facilitated by the Sultanate of Oman.
During the meeting, the Foreign Minister reviewed the Iranian side’s views and proposals, as well as the responses and inquiries of the US negotiating team concerning the key elements of Iran’s nuclear programme and the guarantees required to achieve the desired agreement addressing all technical and monitoring aspects of the file.
