IBRA: A Ramadhan tent dedicated to supporting productive families opened in the Wilayat of Ibra in Al Sharqiyah North Governorate.
The two-week event is organised by the Ministry of Social Development, represented by the General-Directorate of Social Development in the governorate, in cooperation with several public and private sector institutions.
Said bin Saif al Habsi, Director of the Partnership and Community Development Department, said 20 productive families are participating in the Ramadhan tent, displaying a variety of items including traditional Omani food products and household goods.
He explained that the initiative aims to support home-based businesses and provide participants with new marketing opportunities, especially as the venue is located near Ibra Public Park, which attracts visitors during the evening hours in Ramadhan.
The event will also feature numerous family-oriented activities and children’s programmes. An open-air theatre has been set up to host competitions, entertainment events and community activities throughout the duration of the tent.
The opening ceremony was held under the auspices of Mohammed bin Nasser al Maskari, Chairman of the Board, OCCI branch in Al Sharqiyah North, with representatives from various institutions in attendance.
Officials said the Ramadhan tent initiative aims to encourage productive families and strengthen the culture of home-based entrepreneurship and local food production in the governorate. — ONA
