MUSCAT: Area 21 of Division G, District 105 of Toastmasters International successfully conducted its Annual Speech Contest at Al Naba Hall, Ghala, under the theme “Speak to Inspire.” The event brought together members from the five clubs of Area 21, collectively known as GRAMI — Galaxy, ReaDiscovery, ABC, Al Mussanah, and ISB Toastmasters.

The contest featured four categories: Prepared Speech, Humorous Speech, Evaluation and Impromptu (Table Topics), offering participants a dynamic platform to showcase public speaking skills. Contestants delivered engaging and confident speeches, reflecting the spirit of inspiration, leadership and effective communication.

Toastmasters provides a global platform for professionals, students and homemakers, supporting both citizens and expatriates in developing communication, leadership and networking skills through structured meetings and constructive feedback.

For youth below 18, around 40 Gavel Clubs in Oman recently held the Oman Gavel Championship of Public Speaking, encouraging young communicators to build confidence early.

GRAMI clubs meet regularly at the Coral Building in Al Khuwair: ABC Toastmasters on Mondays at 7:30 pm, Galaxy Toastmasters on Saturdays at 4 pm, and ReaDiscovery Toastmasters online on Wednesdays with a focus on book and movie reviews. Al Musannah Toastmasters, an Arabic-speaking club, meets at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences – Al Musannah on Mondays at 5 pm, while ISB Toastmasters, a corporate club, caters to teachers at Indian School Bausher.

With nearly 80 clubs under District 105 across Oman, the Toastmasters movement continues to grow in impact. Area 21 welcomes individuals keen to enhance communication, leadership, and networking skills to attend a meeting and experience the Toastmasters journey.
