Manah - The Oman Across Ages Museum (OAAM) received around 940,000 visitors since its opening on March 13, 2023 until the end of January of this year, 2026.
According to official statistics issued by the museum, the number of Omani visitors was 770,000, representing 82 percent of the total number of visitors.
These figures do not include the thousands of visitors who attend events held by the museum in its halls, such as seminars and lectures.
Engineer Al Yaqdhan bin Abdullah Al Harthi, Director General of the Oman Across Ages Museum, said that 90 percent of the museum’s visitors are Omani families from various governorates, thus achieving one of its goals as an interactive museum that seeks to strengthen the relationship of Omani youth with their country’s cultural heritage and to introduce them to its history.
He noted that the number of visitors during 2025 was 204,000, including 134,669 Omanis, 31,922 foreign tourists, 3,317 Gulf tourists, and 25,114 visitors from the governorates.
The museum was also visited by 77,828 students from schools in the Sultanate of Oman during the same year.
The number of visitors also reached more than 44,000 visitors during the months of November and December, and more than 62,500 visitors during the summer months (May-August).
The average visitor spends two hours inside the museum halls, and the visit may exceed four hours, while those who wish to read all the contents of the exhibition halls need between three and four consecutive days.
He explained that the museum’s geographical location contributed to increasing the number of visitors, given the presence of historical and archaeological sites and tourist attractions in the surrounding area, including the aflaj (traditional irrigation systems), the ruins of Bat, and Bahla Castle. In addition, Nizwa is a focal point for visitors to the Dhofar Governorate coming by land, and a stop for visitors to Jabal Akhdar, Jabal Shams, and the mountain villages.
