MUSCAT: The Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC) has signed a strategic partnership agreement with KIT Group and KIT Group Middle East to enhance Oman’s business events sector. Under the agreement, KIT Group will serve as the Centre’s in-house professional conference organiser and preferred partner for regional and international events, supporting the delivery of global standards in event planning and execution


The partnership is designed to raise service quality and operational efficiency, strengthening Oman’s competitiveness as a destination for major conferences and exhibitions.


The collaboration is expected to enrich the local business events ecosystem by leveraging international expertise, expanding the range of events hosted in Oman and supporting the development of national talent in the meetings and conferences sector. It also aligns with broader economic diversification objectives by boosting business tourism, promoting knowledge transfer and encouraging innovation and sustainability within the events industry. The agreement reinforces the Centre’s ambition to position Oman as a leading regional hub for high-value business events with lasting economic and knowledge-based impact.


Engineer Said bin Salim al Shanfari, CEO of the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, said the partnership marks a qualitative leap in developing a globally competitive conferences and events ecosystem, in line with Oman Vision 2040. Khalid bin Walid al Zadjali, Director of the Oman Convention Bureau at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, added that the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to strengthening the sector through cooperation with experienced international partners and enhancing Oman’s standing in the global meetings industry. — ONA
