Muscat: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism has called on restaurants and cafes to apply for tourism classification with the ministry in specific cases.

The ministry clarified that applications are required if the restaurant or cafe is located within a hotel establishment, established on tourism-designated land, or operated under concession agreements.

It added that restaurants and cafes not falling under the above-mentioned cases may also apply for tourism classification.

The ministry indicated that establishments subject to the provisions of this notice must submit their applications through the electronic services portal in accordance with the approved procedures, by scanning the designated QR code.
