SUHAR: The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (Riyada) organised the Al Batinah Entrepreneurs Exhibition 2026 in Suhar, Al Batinah North Governorate, with the participation of 50 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) from diverse economic sectors.

The two-day event highlights ongoing national efforts to strengthen the SME ecosystem and promote sustainable economic growth.

The exhibition was held under the auspices of Eng Bader bin Salem al Maamari, Chairman of the Projects, Tenders and Local Content Authority, and attended by Halima bint Rashid al Zari, Chairperson of Riyada.

Khalfan bin Abdullah al Kharousi, Director of Riyada in Al Batinah North, said the exhibition forms part of national programmes aimed at empowering SMEs by providing professional platforms that combine commercial showcasing, institutional networking and strategic partnerships with public and private sector entities.

He noted that the participation of 50 entrepreneurs offers a direct interface with decision-makers and procurement officials, facilitating business introductions ahead of contracting opportunities. The initiative also enables SMEs to present their products and services, demonstrate national competencies, and strengthen their integration into local value chains.

The exhibition brings together enterprises from sectors including manufacturing, handicrafts, technology, digital innovation, tourism, services and trade — reflecting the expanding role of SMEs in supporting Oman’s economic diversification and income generation goals.

In addition to the exhibition, the event features workshops, practical training sessions and specialised dialogue forums led by experts and representatives from government entities and private companies in Oman. These sessions focus on modern management practices, business model development, professional marketing, governance, financial planning, tender procedures and supply chain management.

The exhibition underscores Riyada’s continued commitment to enhancing SME competitiveness, fostering entrepreneurship and building stronger linkages between emerging businesses and major institutions across Oman. — ONA
