The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism held a press conference to announce details of Oman’s hosting of the Middle East Championship “Experience Oman IRONMAN 70.3 – Muscat,” marking its first edition in the Sultanate of Oman. The championship will take place from 13–14 February, underscoring Oman’s growing prominence on the global sporting events map and strengthening its position as a regional hub for sports and endurance tourism.

Organized by the Ministry in collaboration with Middle East Global Events (MGE), the championship will be held in Muscat Governorate, specifically at Al Qurum Beach. Athletes will compete across three race segments: a 1.9 km open-water swim, a 90 km cycling course along diverse coastal routes, and a 21.1 km half marathon run. The courses are designed to highlight Oman’s scenic coastline and natural landscapes, delivering a dynamic and visually striking race experience. The event will also feature family-oriented activities, including a fully integrated fan zone and dedicated children’s races.

A total of 1,049 athletes representing 82 countries are registered to compete, including participants from the United Kingdom, Russia, India, the United Arab Emirates, and Oman.
