MUSCAT: Staff from Harub Dental Surgery's Al Mawaleh and Al Qurum branches rolled up their sleeves to clean Al Hail North beach on Monday.

The team of 25, including dentists, cleaners, receptionists, nurses and technicians, collected almost a tonne of trash, with 80-90 kilogrammes weighed and more unweighed items.

"We are very proud of what we achieved. Every little help makes a difference," said Dr Laila Harub from Harub Dental Surgery.

"This is part of corporate social responsibility, and we wanted to do something that requires time, effort and real involvement, not just giving money," she added.

The team found mostly plastic bottles, cans, shoes and other harmful items, an experience Dr Laila described as "eye-opening and emotional".

"We hope that 2026 will be a year of awareness, mindfulness and responsibility, not only in a corporate sense, but also as individuals," she added, encouraging other companies to follow suit and help protect Oman's 1,700 kilometres of coastline.
