Al Dhahirah Tourism Festival 2026 draws 420,000 visitors

IBRI: The 3rd edition of the Al Dhahirah Tourism Festival concluded on February 6, after a month of diverse activities and programmes, drawing strong public turnout and active participation from various segments of the community. The festival ran from January 8 to February 6.


The closing ceremony was held under the auspices of Tahir bin Mabkhout al Junaibi, Governor of Al Dhahirah, in the presence of Ibrahim bin Saad bin Bishan, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Their Excellencies the Walis, members of the Majlis Ash’shura and Municipal Council, as well as representatives of government and private entities.


The ceremony also honoured supporting institutions and partners who contributed to the festival’s success and its wider community impact.


The festival delivered significant developmental and economic outcomes, benefiting more than 200 job-seekers, supporting over 30 SMEs, and assisting around 300 productive families. These achievements highlight the festival’s role in empowering national talent, promoting entrepreneurship, and strengthening local production.


Additionally, the event contributed to revitalising the tourism sector and attracting visitors from within and outside Oman, boosting hotel occupancy, and driving demand for markets, restaurants, and entertainment facilities. It also showcased Al Dhahirah Governorate’s tourism and investment potential.


The festival drew approximately 420,000 visitors, while digital engagement across social media platforms exceeded 23 million views, underscoring its wide media reach and reinforcing its status as a key cultural and tourism event in the Governorate.
