Muscat: Al Suwaiq Club were crowned champions of the Olympic League (Under-21) after a deserved 2–0 victory over Al Oruba Club in the final held at the Al Rustaq Sports Complex, under the auspices of Abdullah bin Salem al Shanfari, Board Member of the Oman Football Association.

Both teams approached the match cautiously in the opening minutes, keen to avoid early mistakes. Al Suwaiq, however, gradually took control and began applying pressure, threatening Al Oruba’s goal through a series of attacks. Khalil al Balushi and Muhannad al Ajmi both tested the defence, but goalkeeper Mohammed al Hajri stayed alert to deny the early efforts. Al Oruba relied on quick counter-attacks and nearly caught their opponents off guard with a powerful strike from Abdullah al Arimi.

Al Suwaiq continued their offensive momentum throughout the first half, carving out several promising chances. A header from Al Balushi and a shot by Luay al Saadi that skimmed past the post came closest, yet the breakthrough remained elusive as the half ended goalless.

The second half saw Al Suwaiq return with greater urgency and determination. Dominating possession and controlling the midfield, they finally broke the deadlock in the 57th minute when Al Balushi drove into the box and calmly slotted home. The forward struck again just four minutes later with a powerful finish to double the advantage and put his side firmly in control.

Al Oruba pushed forward in the closing stages in search of a comeback, but Al Suwaiq’s defence held strong. The blue side also threatened to add a third on several occasions. In the dying minutes, Luay al Saadi received his second yellow card and was sent off, before the referee’s final whistle confirmed Al Suwaiq’s triumph and their Under-21 league crown.
