Muscat: The Care and Special Education (CSE), a specialised institution under Indian School Muscat, successfully hosted the Curtain Raiser Programme, 'Teach to Reach – Expanding Possibilities'.

As a prelude to the exhibition, the CSE organised a ceremony on Monday in the presence of dignitaries and ambassadors, formally announcing the event and its objectives under the auspices of HH Sayyidah Zawan bint Fahar al Said who highlighted the CSE’s strong commitment to inclusive and individualised education, serving children from multiple nationalities, including Oman, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Sudan, Nigeria and the Philippines. Special attention and importance are given to every child, ensuring personalised care and support based on individual learning needs.

Speaking to the media, Sayyidah Zawan said, "It is an extremely important field of education. Even today, in the developed countries, there are not enough schools to support children with learning disabilities and who need special care. Even parents do not recognise that until the children are about 10 years old. And it is phenomenal that we have a centre right here in Oman. It will be nice to see the centre expand to other governorates."

A key highlight of the programme was the confident and inspiring performances by CSE students, which reflected their abilities, progress and the nurturing environment provided by the institution, including a short film that went for the Indian School Film Festival.

Speaking on the occasion, Ramakrishna Gowdgere, President of CSE, stated, “At CSE, we believe that every child matters. Our aim is to create an inclusive space where diversity is celebrated, abilities are nurtured, and each child is empowered to reach their fullest potential." The Care and Special Education (CSE), a specialised centre under the umbrella of Indian Schools in Oman, dedicated to empowering children with special needs, is to hold its Annual Exhibition 2026, titled 'Teach to Reach – Expanding Possibilities', scheduled to be held on Saturday, February 7 and Sunday, February 8, at the CSE premises, Indian School Muscat.

The spokesperson from the Board of Directors stated, “This ceremony reflects the Board’s unwavering commitment to inclusivity where every child at CSE is empowered to learn, grow and belong with dignity. Through this initiative, the Board reaffirms its vision of an education system that measures success not by limitation, but by care, opportunity and shared humanity.” The exhibition aims to create awareness about the importance of adaptive devices, assistive aids and innovative teaching-learning practices in the field of special education. The event will showcase how thoughtfully designed educational and therapeutic interventions can enhance independence, functional competence and confidence among children with special needs.

A key highlight of the exhibition is expected to be the display of student work, adaptive learning tools, therapy aids, vocational training initiatives and real-life skill development models, including an ADL (Activities of Daily Living) Model Home. These exhibits are designed to demonstrate practical strategies that support independent living and inclusion.

The exhibition also serves as an interactive platform for parents, caregivers, educators, professionals, and the wider community to gain insights into recent advancements, best practices, and available resources that support the holistic development of children with diverse needs.
