The Royal Oman Police has said that text messages requiring the payment of fines within a deadline are false
The messages said, "There is a traffic fine of ROOmani that has not yet been collected and is about to expire. Please be aware that failure to pay within 13 hours will result in an additional late payment penalty of RO100, and further legal penalties may apply. ROP advises to complete payment immediately via the following secure link."
