The Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Washington, DC, has urged Omani citizens residing in the United States of America to exercise extreme caution in light of the expected snowstorm that is likely to affect a number of states, particularly the Midwest and East Coast regions.

The Embassy called on citizens to fully comply with the instructions and directives of local and federal U.S. authorities and to make the necessary preparations to deal with the potential consequences of the storm, including the risks resulting from snowfall, ice formation, and a sharp drop in temperatures.

More than 9,000 flights across the US over the weekend have been canceled as a major storm expected to wreak havoc across much of the country threatens to knock out power for days and snarl roadways.
