New school costing over RO 1.8m opens in Seeb

MUSCAT: A new school going by the name of Musa Bin Nusair Boys School (Grades 9-12) in Al Seeb has been completed and handed over to the Directorate-General of Education in Muscat Governorate on Wednesday.


The handover ceremony was attended by specialists from the Directorate-General of Education in Muscat Governorate and the Directorate of Projects and Services.


The school project is part of a series of new schools in all governorates of the Sultanate of Oman. Prior to the handover, all classrooms, educational facilities, and administrative offices within the building were inspected to ensure their readiness and compliance with the specifications set by the Directorate of Projects and Services.


Constructed at a total cost of RO 1,808,482, the school has a total area of 29,710 square metres and comprises 40 classrooms, 3 science labs, 2 computer labs, administrative offices and teachers’ rooms. It meets the educational requirements for grades 9 to 12. The school has a number of modern facilities, including enclosed and air-conditioned corridors, an indoor five-a-side football pitch, an artificial turf football field, and a solar energy system that provides about 40 per cent of the school’s energy, promoting sustainability and energy conservation. — ONA
