MUSCAT: As part of its efforts to enhance international academic cooperation and support student exchange programmes, the International Cooperation Office at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) will launch the third edition of the Arabic Language and Omani Culture Programme on Sunday, with the participation of students from a number of countries, including the Russian Federation, the Republic of China, the Republic of South Korea and the Republic of Estonia.
The programme reflects SQU’s commitment to promoting the Arabic language and introducing Omani culture through short, specialised courses in Arabic language skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing), alongside an integrated cultural programme featuring a range of activities and field visits to key cultural and tourist landmarks in the Sultanate of Oman.
In its third edition, the programme is scheduled to host 84 students from January 25 to February 22. Participants will receive intensive language instruction designed to enhance their linguistic proficiency, enabling them to engage directly with the local community and gain first-hand insight into Omani customs and traditions.
The programme aims to provide international students with a comprehensive educational and cultural experience that combines academic and practical components, while offering a stimulating learning environment that fosters cultural understanding and strengthens bridges of communication between peoples.
The International Cooperation Office affirms that the programme reflects Sultan Qaboos University’s commitment to strengthening its international academic presence and consolidating its position as a leading scientific and cultural hub, contributing to the promotion of intercultural dialogue and openness.
