HM Receives Italian Prime Minister, Hold Talks

 Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik received at Al Barakah Palace on Wednesday Giorgia Meloni, Prime Minister of the Italian Republic. At the outset of the meeting, His Majesty welcomed the guest and her accompanying official delegation, wishing them a pleasant stay in the Sultanate of Oman. For her part, the Prime Minister expressed her delight with this visit, appreciating His Majesty the Sultan's warm welcome and hospitality.

The Prime Minister conveyed greetings of President Sergio Mattarella of the Italian Republic to His Majesty the Sultan, along with his best wishes of good health and well-being to His Majesty. President Mattarella also wished His Majesty success to realize further progress, prosperity and comprehensive development under his wise leadership of the Renewed Renaissance march. On his turn, His Majesty asked the Prime Minister to convey his greetings and best wishes to the Italian President. His Majesty affirmed his aspiration to enhance relations of cooperation and partnership between the two countries in various fields to serve mutual interests.

After that,His Majesty and the Italian Prime Minister held a session of talks.During the session, they reviewed the existing aspects of cooperation between the two countries and ways to develop them. They also discussed investment opportunities, particularly in the sectors of industry, energy, modern technologies, food security and tourism, as well as fields of culture and education.

They also exchanged views on a set of regional and international developments. The session was attended from the Omani side by Gen. Sultan bin Mohammed al Nu'amani, Minister of the Royal Office, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, Dr. Hamad bin Said al Aufi, Head of the Private Office, Abdulsalam bin Mohammed al Murshadi, Chairman of Oman Investment Authority, Hussain bin Ali bin Abdullatif, Adviser at the Private Office and HH Sayyid Nizar bin Al Julanda al Said, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Italian Republic. Meanwhile, it was attended from the Italian side by Pierluigi D'Elia, Ambassador of the Italian Republic to the Sultanate of Oman, Fabrizio Saggio, Diplomatic Advisor to the Italian Prime Minister, General Franco Federici, Military Advisor to the Italian Prime Minister and some officials at the Italian government.
