

SALALAH: The Directorate-General of Education in Dhofar Governorate celebrated the graduation of 349 educators from the seventh batch of the Specialised Institute for Vocational Training of Teachers, held at the Sultan Qaboos Youth Complex for Culture and Entertainment in Salalah.
Hamed bin Bakhit al Mashikhi, Assistant Director-General for Educational Affairs, highlighted the Ministry of Education’s commitment to establishing a comprehensive educational renaissance.
He emphasised the ministry’s focus on qualifying educational staff through specialised programmes that foster innovation, stimulate new ideas, and enhance performance across all educational, administrative, and technical areas.
Dr Mohammed bin Said al Amri, Head of the Training Centre, noted that the graduation reflects Oman’s dedication to developing the educational and professional system through effective collaboration between the Specialised Institute, Directorates-General of Education and programme teams. He added that the 7th batch contributed to a total of 349 graduates this year, part of 6,063 graduates across all governorates, demonstrating the institute’s impact on national teacher training efforts.
The ceremony included a visual presentation on the institute’s journey, along with the recognition of supervisors, experts, school leaders, top-performing teachers and new graduates.
The Specialised Institute aims to develop high-quality curricula and teaching methods, ensuring that teachers are professionally committed and prepared to contribute to positive changes in classrooms.
It also focuses on practical research projects aligned with the local community’s needs, aiming to strengthen teacher preparation and ensure educational standards meet international benchmarks. - ONA
