MUSCAT: A total of 51,482 jobs were provided to citizens in 2025, a 114-per cent increase over the annual target for employment and training of 45,000.


The Ministry of Labour explained that this achievement reflects integration between the public and the private sectors in supporting the national employment strategy.


The ministry said that its quality programmes and initiatives included replacement plans, work-related training, enhancing the skills of job-seekers as well as close cooperation with private sector establishments to open up broader horizons for sustainable job opportunities.


The ministry indicated that first-time employment and replacement in the public sector accounted for 11,206 opportunities, well above a target of 10,000, while the private sector recorded 25,207 opportunities, surpassing the target of 24,000.


As for training, qualification and on-the-job training, the public sector recorded 2,588 opportunities, while the private sector recorded 12,481.


The ministry affirmed its continued commitment to developing initiatives and projects aimed at enhancing the work environment and increasing employment rates in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040. — ONA
