MUSCAT: As the world welcomes the new year with hopes and aspirations, Oman is prepared to kick off Muscat Nights. The event will take place at various venues and shopping malls throughout the country.
The festival will be held at locations such as Al Qurum Natural Park, Al Amerat Public Park, Al Naseem Public Park, the Royal Opera House Muscat (ROHM), Oman Automobile Association, Oman Convention and Exhibition Center (OCEC), Al Hail Beach, Wadi Al Khoud, as well as several cultural centres and shopping malls.
The family festival, which will run until January 31, will feature a dedicated area for over 700 small and medium enterprises and productive families.
Organisers have arranged for over 500 volunteers who speak different languages to help manage the event, making it the largest of its kind in the capital and welcoming visitors from around the world.
Dr Shawqi bin Abdurahiman al Zadjali, Head of Marketing and Promotions at Muscat Nights, explained that the chosen locations were selected for accessibility to residents and visitors across different areas of the capital.
"We are all set to host the one-month-long-family-festival called Muscat Nights 2026 from Thursday where over 700 Small and Medium Enterprises, along with highly creative families, are participating presenting their products and services to the visitors. This provides not only an opportunity for these companies to showcase their offerings to the nearly one million anticipated visitors but also makes a complete family festival," he said.
The festival will offer a variety of activities, food, fireworks, laser shows, and entertainment for children, including rides, games, and sports activities. Additionally, there will be new and innovative programmes, performances, and attractions to entertain families from around the world.
Traditional art, culture, and music will be celebrated, with performances by the Miami band and musicians from all governorates showcasing traditional Omani music forms. Visitors can also enjoy a wide range of shopping and entertainment activities, including traditional handicrafts and artefacts from various countries.
Muscat Nights will be open to the public every day from 4pm to 11pm, with extended hours on weekends. Some days will be reserved for families and women to enjoy the festivities.
