MUSCAT: Speed-cubers and puzzle enthusiasts across Oman are invited to register for the Oman Open 2026 Rubik’s Cube Championship, the largest official World Cube Association (WCA) competition ever to be held in Oman.
Registration will open on January 10, 2026, via the World Cube Association website, giving competitors the opportunity to secure their place at the landmark one-day event scheduled for April 18, 2026, at Cheltenham Muscat.
The championship is expected to attract participants from across Oman as well as overseas, creating a vibrant and competitive atmosphere that celebrates problem-solving, precision, focus and innovation. Designed to be inclusive, the event is open to cubers of all experience levels — from first-time participants to seasoned speed-cubing professionals.
Beyond the excitement of competition, Oman Open 2026 aims to inspire young people by promoting logical thinking, perseverance and a lifelong love of learning. Organisers say the event reflects a growing interest in mind sports and puzzle-based learning, which encourage cognitive development and creativity among students and youth.
With limited slots available and strong interest anticipated, early registration is strongly advised.
