Muscat: Oman Meterology has indicated the probability of frost formation on mountain peaks from Tuesday.
High and medium clouds advection over most of the northern governorates and a chance of low clouds along the coastal areas of the Arabian Sea and the Sea of Oman, with chances of isolated rain. Chance of late-night/early-morning fog formation over the desert areas of Al Dhahirah and South Al Sharqiyah governorates
Frost is a covering of ice crystals on the surface produced by the deposition of water vapor to a surface cooler than 0 °C.
The deposition occurs when the temperature of the surface falls below the frost point. Similarly, dew forms when the air or surface temperature falls below the dew point temperature.
Minimum temperatures can drop to between 20 °C and sub-zero levels according to the Met Department.
