MUSCAT: Oman’s Producer Price Index (PPI) declined by 4.3 per cent in the third quarter of 2025 compared with the same period last year, according to figures released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information.

The fall was mainly driven by a 5.3 per cent drop in mining and quarrying prices, reflecting a 5.4 per cent decrease in crude oil and natural gas prices, despite a sharp 13.3 per cent rise in mineral ore prices.

Manufacturing prices also fell by 4.1 per cent, affected by a marginal 0.2 per cent decline in food, beverage and textile prices, alongside a 4.6 per cent drop in other transportable goods and a 4.7 per cent decrease in metal products, machinery and equipment.

In contrast, basic services recorded gains, with electricity prices rising by 3.5 per cent and water prices increasing by 6.1 per cent. — ONA
