MUSCAT: The activities of the 13th Omani Poetry Festival, organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, concluded after five days of rich literary engagement, featuring a distinguished group of Omani poets alongside participants from several Arab countries.

The closing ceremony was held at the Ministry of Information Theatre in Muscat under the auspices of Sayyid Saud bin Hilal al Busaidy, Governor of Muscat.

At the outset of the ceremony, poet Dr Omar Mahrous delivered a speech on behalf of the participating poets, describing the festival as “a luminous milestone that affirms the continuity of Oman’s cultural project, its conscious openness to Arab creativity, and its firm belief that poetry remains capable of uniting hearts, harmonising visions and elevating aesthetic taste.”

The ceremony also featured the screening of a documentary film highlighting the festival’s key events, underscoring its role as a prominent cultural platform that reflects the vitality of the poetic movement in the Sultanate of Oman. The film showcased poetry evenings, intellectual seminars and critical readings of the works of honoured Omani poets, while also spotlighting the contributions of guest poets from across the Arab world.
