Military, Security Services Medical City marks Day of Persons with Disabilities

MUSCAT: The Medical City for Military and Security Services organised a ceremony on Monday marking the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, which falls on December 3 of every year.


The event was held under the auspices of Brigadier Dr Nasser bin Salim al Hinai, Director-General of Medical Services for Military and Security Services and Acting Director-General of the Medical City for Military and Security Services Hospital - Al Khoudh.


The event took place at the Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation Centre at the Medical City for Military and Security Services. He affirmed the appreciation and pride in the journey of persons with disabilities who are retired personnel of the Ministry of Defence and the Sultan's Armed Forces. He noted that they have left their mark in the memory of time and place and are a source of inspiration and an example to be followed that embodies the finest images of determination and persistence, wishing them all success and happiness.


The chief guest and attendees toured the accompanying exhibition, which included a diverse range of recreational, cultural and sports activities. The chief guest then inaugurated the Hydrotherapy Unit affiliated with the Al Amal Centre for Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation.


He felicitated the participants in the International Day of Persons with Disabilities and the organisers. He also honoured the distinguished personnel from the Medical City for Military and Security Services, in addition to honouring the specialists who participated in the 'Sail freely' World Sailing Championship, and the Oman LNG Company which supports the initiatives of the Al Amal Centre for Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation. - ONA
