Seeb Club asserted their dominance with an emphatic 5–1 victory over Saham at Seeb Sports Stadium, in the closing match of Round 7 of the Jindal Football League.
Seeb started the match with clear attacking intent and came close to opening the scoring early through Mamadou. The breakthrough came in the fifth minute when Mohammed Ramadan headed home from a corner delivered by Ali al Busaidy, before Abdulaziz al Maqbali doubled the lead four minutes later with another header from a cross.
Seeb maintained their attacking pressure as Saham struggled to create any real threat, and Zahir al Aghbari made it 3–0 in the 32nd minute with a powerful shot into the right corner, giving Seeb a comfortable lead at half-time.
Early in the second half, Saham pulled one back in the 54th minute through Mohsen Jawhar with a long-range strike. However, Seeb quickly regained control, and Abdulmajid al Balushi added the fourth goal in the 79th minute after a well-executed counterattack, beating both the defender and the goalkeeper.
The match also saw Saham’s Abdulaziz al Khaldi sent off for bringing down a Seeb attacker as the last defender. Substitute Marwan Taib completed the scoring with Seeb’s fifth goal in the 89th minute. The win lifted Seeb to 16 points at the top of the standings on goal difference ahead of Al Nahda, while Saham remained seventh with 10 points.
SOHAR MOVE INTO THIRD PLACE
Sohar claimed an important 2–1 victory over Oman Club in their match at the Sohar Sports Complex.
The first half was evenly contested, with Oman Club enjoying slight superiority but failing to convert their chances, as the half ended goalless. In the second half, Sohar took the lead in the 47th minute when Amir Alaa converted a penalty, before scoring his second goal in the 61st minute following a one-on-one situation.
Oman Club reduced the deficit in the 65th minute through Bassam al Shein, but Sohar managed the remainder of the match well to secure the win. The match also saw a red card shown to Sohar’s assistant coach due to unsporting behaviour.
With this victory, Sohar moved up to third place with 13 points, while Oman Club remained sixth on 10 points.
BAHLA EDGE IBRI
Bahla Club continued their positive run with a thrilling 3–2 victory over Ibri at the Al Buraimi Sports Complex.
Bahla opened the scoring in the 17th minute through Majed al Shukaili, before Ibri equalised via Bisan Jacques, ending the first half level. In the second half, Bahla made the most of their chances against the run of play, as Abdul Salam al Shukaili scored twice in the 70th and 73rd minutes. Ibri pulled one back in the 88th minute through Bisan Jacques, but Bahla held firm in the closing stages.
The win lifted Bahla to 12 points in fifth place, while Ibri remained second from bottom with just one point.
