

MUSCAT: be’ah, Oman Environmental Services Holding Company, has signed a strategic agreement with Port of Duqm Company SAOC to manage and treat industrial waste generated by ships calling at the port, in line with international maritime regulations and the highest environmental standards.
The agreement was inked by be’ah CEO Eng Tariq bin Ali al Amri and Port of Duqm CEO Reggy Vermeulen, in the presence of officials from both sides.
Under the partnership, be’ah will implement an integrated industrial waste management system covering safe packaging, specialised transport, environmentally compliant treatment and final disposal based on approved standards.
The initiative aims to protect the marine environment and support the sustainable operation of Omani ports.
Vermeulen said the agreement reflects Port of Duqm’s commitment to environmental stewardship and compliance with IMO standards, while supporting national sustainability goals and Oman Vision 2040. — ONA
