The event was held as part of the sixth edition of the 'Qarri Ayna' (Rest Assured) awareness campaign, aligned with the global 16 days of activism against gender based violence.

She highlighted Oman’s longstanding efforts to elevate the status of women and ensure a secure and empowering environment. She emphasised how national strategies particularly Oman Vision 2040 have incorporated clear policies and programmes that protect women’s rights and enhance their role in sustainable development.
Marwa also shed light on the social empowerment programmes launched by the Ministry of Social Development, explaining how these initiatives have introduced legislations and policies support women across various life circumstances. She pointed to the ministry’s ongoing work in providing legal and social protection that ensures women’s integration into national development efforts.
One of the participants, Laila al Harthy, said: "Sessions like this help us understand the laws that protect us more deeply. Many women are unaware of the legal tools available to them. Today we leave with greater awareness and confidence and that is empowerment in itself.”
The event comes as part of the continued collaboration between the Women’s Affairs Department and the Family Development Department within the Directorate General of Social Development in Al Dakhiliyah. The aim is to increase community awareness of the national legislative framework dedicated to empowering and protecting women, while opening channels of dialogue between specialists and community members.
