MUSCAT: The 6th Arab Forum for Professional Qualification and Accreditation began on Sunday in Muscat under the theme 'Towards Sustainable Professionalism and Accredited Standards'.


The opening of the two-day forum was held under the auspices of Dr Mahad bin Said Baowain, Minister of Labour, with the attendance of a number of officials from the public and private sectors working in the engineering field, both from inside and outside the Sultanate of Oman.


This edition of the forum aims to develop the system of professional accreditation and qualification according to the best international practices and standards, enhance integration among Arab bodies and unions working in the engineering sector, keep pace with digital transformations by discussing the role of artificial intelligence and future skills for engineers, and support continuous professional development programmes and align them with labour market needs. — ONA
