MUSCAT: Dr Satheesh Nambiar, who served the Indian Social Club (ISC) for over three decades, was cremated on Sunday in Mangaluru, Karnataka, India, following a brief illness.

A medical doctor by profession, Dr Nambiar guided the welfare and social initiatives of the Indian expatriate community in Oman. P M Jabir, former Community Welfare head at ISC, described him as a fatherly figure, a true leader, and a guiding force behind the club’s growth into a hub for the community’s socio-cultural activities.

Wilson George, former Chairman of the Board of Directors of Indian Schools in Oman, called Dr Nambiar a mentor and elder brother, praising his invaluable contributions to the Indian community.

C M Najeeb, educationist and industrialist in Oman, extended heartfelt condolences, noting that the Indian diaspora in Oman will deeply miss his leadership, guidance, and human touch.
