MUSCAT: The Sultanate of Oman occupied first place at the level of Asia and the Middle East region, according to the latest report of “Numbeo” Global Quality of Life Index for 2025 (mid-year).

The ranking was based on the assessments of the populations within the countries listed in the global platform.

The Sultanate of Oman registered the highest score in the regional index, earning 215.1 points, thus significantly outperforming other GCC and Middle East countries. Qatar took second place (189.4 points), followed by the United Arab Emirates (174.2 points) and Saudi Arabia (173.7 points).

The index is the largest global database that counts the volume of user participation as a measure to assess living conditions in cities and countries around the world.

The index does not depend solely on official statistical data. It offers significant weight to opinion polls and direct personal assessment by residents and citizens, based on vital criteria that include the levels of safety and security, the costs of living and their ratio to income, the quality of health services and medical care, climate and environmental conditions and the levels of traffic, infrastructure and pollution.

This advanced ranking affirms the Sultanate of Oman’s status as one of the best destinations in the region. It is a direct outcome of sound sustainable development policies and social stability in the country. - ONA
