The Oman national bodybuilding and physique team impressed at the 2025 IFBB World Bodybuilding Championship as they managed to secure seven medals including: two silver and five bronze at the global event in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, which ran for four days and concluded on Monday.
The new achievement reinforced the steady progress of the Omani bodybuilders, who have consistently delivered standout performances in recent regional and international competitions. Recently, they made a remarkable show at the 2025 West Asian Bodybuilding Championship which concluded in Bahrain as the Omani bodybuilders claimed eight gold medals and finished second overall.
Oman bodybuilder Ahmed al Hadidi led the delegation’s medal tally by capturing the silver medal in the Masters Bodybuilding category, adding to his history of podium finishes for Oman. The potential young bodybuilder Abdullah al Amri showed strong momentum with two bronze medals, one in the Junior Physique division and another in the Senior Physique category, underscoring his growing presence in international events.
In the heavyweight divisions, Ahmed al Hasni delivered a powerful performance as he earned a silver in bodybuilding over 90 kg and bronze in the Masters over 90 kg, while teammate Abdulmajeed al Raisi secured a commendable fourth place in Junior Physique. Veteran athlete Fairooz al Alawi also finished fourth in the Masters bodybuilding category, maintaining Oman’s competitive edge across multiple age groups.
The team’s success extended to the physique categories as well, with Muneer al Luwihi taking bronze in Muscular Physique and Ali al Maamari finishing sixth in the 85 kg bodybuilding division. In the super heavyweight class, Salam al Riyami was placed fourth in the over 100 kg category, while Khalid al Shukaili closed Oman’s medal haul with an impressive bronze in the 80 kg bodybuilding division.
The recent results at the West Asian Bodybuilding and IFBB World Bodybuilding Championship reflected Oman team’s sustained development and strong competitive spirit, further establishing Oman as a rising force in the bodybuilding world. Furthermore, the participation in Dammam provided valuable experience as part of a long-term strategy aimed at elevating Omani athletes to even greater international prominence.
