The Al Mouj Families 3x3 Basketball Tournaments for men and women concluded on Monday night, organised by the Oman Basketball Association (OBA) in cooperation with Al Mouj Muscat. A total of 11 teams participated — seven in the men’s category and four in the women’s category.


The tournament featured strong competition among all participating teams, with players delivering spirited and skillful performances throughout. Hosting the event in the open-air spaces of Al Mouj Muscat played a key role in attracting spectators and enriching community engagement.


The matches reflected a close level of competitiveness and high sporting spirit, adding excitement and enjoyment to the atmosphere while showcasing several promising male and female talents.


The competitions concluded with the crowning of the winning teams, with Said bin Ahmed al Habsi, Acting Secretary-General of the OBA, presenting awards as follows:


In the men’s category, UTAS Team clinched the championship title after displaying consistent and powerful performances throughout the tournament, rightfully earning the trophy of this year’s edition. Team 007 second place after an intense final in which they remained contenders until the very last moments. Cotton Pickers Team claimed third place thanks to their balanced displays across all stages of the competition.

In the women’s category, Team Dunkers captured the championship title after delivering standout performances from the opening matches to the final. Team Shooting Stars finished in second place following a strong battle that extended until the final minutes, while Oman Stars Team secured third place with solid performances throughout the tournament, completing the podium for the women’s division.


Said al Habsi praised the high technical level demonstrated during the tournament and the strong cooperation between the OBA and Al Mouj. He stressed that the event succeeded in highlighting new talents and came as part of efforts to enhance community sports activities and promote the culture of 3x3 basketball.


Al Habsi added that hosting the tournament at Al Mouj Muscat aimed to reinforce the partnership between the two sides by offering an open public sporting event that encourages family participation, supports healthy lifestyles, and contributes to spreading the game in line with Fiba's global direction of organising open-air tournaments. He also noted that the event provided an opportunity for amateurs and new players to showcase their abilities while utilising the modern facilities at Al Mouj Muscat to boost sports and tourism activity in the area.
