

GABORONE: President Duma Gideon Boko of the Republic of Botswana on Tuesday received Abdulsalam bin Mohammed al Murshidi, Chairman of Oman Investment Authority (OIA), at the Presidential Palace in the capital Gaborone.
The meeting aimed to discuss ways to enhance and elevate economic and investment cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Botswana towards qualitative partnerships that serve the interests of both countries.
During the meeting, the OIA chairman conveyed the greetings of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to the President of Botswana. He affirmed the Sultanate of Oman's commitment to developing bilateral relations and supporting cooperation pathways with African nations.
The President of Botswana appreciated the positive role undertaken by the Sultanate of Oman in promoting regional stability and development, and asked the OIA chairman to convey his greetings to His Majesty the Sultan and his appreciation for the two countries' commitment to strengthening their economic partnerships.
The two sides addressed ways to expand cooperation horizons in sectors aligned with the priorities of Oman Vision 2040 and Botswana Vision 2036. This included the financial sector, the mining sector, renewable energy, energy transition, and strategic investments supporting sustainable development. Emphasis was also placed on the importance of partnerships that contribute to enhancing energy security and creating an environment supportive of long-term economic growth. - ONA
