Arab Youth and Junior 3x3 basketball begins today at Al Mouj Muscat

Muscat: The Arab Youth and Junior 3x3 Basketball Championship, hosted by the Oman Basketball Association in cooperation with the Arab Basketball Federation, will begin at 3 pm on Tuesday at Al Mouj Muscat. The tournament runs from November 25–26, with participating teams arriving in Muscat on Monday.

Youth competitions begin at 3 pm, with Oman A facing Kuwait. Lebanon will play Qatar A at 3:20 pm. Youth matches resume at 4:20 pm when Oman B meet Qatar A, followed by Kuwait vs Lebanon at 4:40 pm.

Junior (girls) competitions start at 3:40 pm, with Oman A taking on Kuwait. Qatar A will play Oman B at 4 pm. The junior matches resume at 5:20 pm with Oman B facing Kuwait, followed by Oman A vs Qatar A at 5:40 pm. Group stage matches will continue until 7:30 pm, with the championship concluding on November 26.

The Arab Championship is played in a round-robin format, after which four teams advance to the semifinals. The first-place team will face the fourth-place team, while the second- and third-place teams meet, with the winners playing for the title.

On the preparation front, Oman’s national teams have completed their final training sessions. The junior girls’ team is led by coach Wafa Zaghdo, and the squad includes: Shams Al Duha bint Khalil al Khinjiyah, Fatma bint Said al Numaniyah, Nareen bint Mohammed al Maamariyah, Ruba bint Salim al Kalbaniyah, Reema bint Majid al Mughairiyah, Zainab bint Khalifa al Busaidiyah, Malak bint Suleiman al Salimiyah, Sayyidah Lamar bint Mohammed al Busaidiyah, Reem bint Suleiman al Shirawiyah and Aisha bint Husam al Yafiiyah.

The youth 3x3 squad includes eight players: Mishal bin Abdulmunim bin Fael Qafqaf, Muhab bin Ramadan bin Said al Humaiseem, Mazin bin Mohammed bin Mubarak al Owaisi, Ibrahim bin Ismail bin Ashraf al Balushi, Azd bin Al Mundhir bin Hamood al Bahlani, Azzan bin Talal bin Ahmed al Ajmi, Adam bin Suleiman bin Nasser al Hinai, and Akram bin Hamad bin Masoud al Rashdi.
