MUSCAT: Hundreds of expatriates and their families in the Sultanate of Oman celebrated Oman’s National Day along with their Omani counterparts by organising special celebrations.

Traders and workers at the Muttrah Souq had earlier decorated the streets along with their shops and premises with tricolour flags and other festoons and the like in preparation for the National Day.

The traders distributed ‘kheer’ at Muttrah Municipality Park as part of National Day celebrations to the passers-by.

“This day marks a great milestone in our lives too, and we spare no occasion to join our Omani friends in any celebration,” said Navas Kasargode, a tradesman at the souq.

They also carried out a solidarity procession through the souq led by Faisal Happyland and Shafiq Edakkad before the sweet distribution, and hundreds of Omanis joined the festivities of National Day celebrations inside the Muttrah Souq.

Officials, traders and workers at the Silal market in the Khazaen Industrial City joined the rest of the country in commemorating the day. Nabil al Ruwaiti, CEO, and Othman bin Ali al Hattali, General Manager, joined the celebrations organised by Suhol al Fayha, a leading fresh fruits and vegetables supplier at Silal.

The special guests to the event expressed their great joy and pride in being able to participate in this important National Day celebration organised by the company.

Abdul Jabbar, Chairman, Abdul Wahid, Managing Director, and Abdul Latif, Director, expressed great joy and pride in being able to celebrate this important National Day celebration.

Everyone was warmly welcomed to the event with coffee and dates in the traditional Omani way followed by a cake-cutting ceremony with everyone in attendance. Members of the Business Network International Majan (BNI Majan) celebrated the day with their partners during its chapter meeting at Sheraton Ruwi. The BNI Majan was honoured to have over 35 business owners from across Oman.

“Together, we celebrated unity, growth, and the spirit of entrepreneurship that drives our nation forward. Long Live the nation,” members reiterated in their joint pledge.
