Embassies of the Sultanate of Oman in several countries marked Oman’s Glorious National Day with receptions highlighting Oman’s proud heritage, diplomatic vision and strengthening relations with sisterly nations.

In Cairo, Abdullah bin Nasser al Rahbi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Arab Republic of Egypt and Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, hosted a reception to commemorate the occasion. In his address, he noted that the celebration of National Day on November 20 reflects pride in Oman’s rich history since the establishment of the Al Busaid State in 1744, while commending the renewed renaissance under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.

He highlighted the steady development of Omani-Egyptian relations and key milestones witnessed in 2025, including the participation of HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, in the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, and Oman’s role as guest of honour at the Cairo International Book Fair. He also pointed to enhanced Arab coordination that led to Dr Khaled El Enany’s election as Director-General of Unesco.

Ambassador Al Rahbi further underscored the growing economic cooperation between the two countries, noting that companies with Egyptian contributions operating in Oman had reached 4,763 as of September this year. He referred to the 'Oman-Egypt, Land of Opportunities' seminar, which explored investment prospects and avenues for economic integration through collaboration between official bodies and the private sector.
