The Oman Handball Association (OHA), represented by the Competitions Committee, has announced the fixtures for the first round of the 2025-26 Second Division League, which will see five clubs competing for the two coveted promotion spots to the First Division.


Among the participants are Al Amerat Club, making their debut in official federation competitions and entering the season as a strong contender after securing several key signings aimed at reinforcing the squad in its inaugural campaign.


Meanwhile, the clubs of Mirbat, Al Suwaiq, Masirah and Al Musannah, have previous experience in the


Second Division are equally determined to fight for the title and seal a return to the top tier.


The league will kick off on December 12 with two matches hosted at Sur Sports Complex. The opening fixture will see Mirbat face Al Suwaiq, followed by Al Amerat taking on Masirah, while Al Musannah will sit out of the first week according to the competition draw.


The Second Division League will be played in two stages. In the first stage, all five clubs will compete in a single round, with points accumulated to determine the standings, the top three teams will advance to the second stage, where they will again compete in a single round-robin league. The team finishing first will qualify directly for the final, while the second placed team will face the third placed team in a playoff match. The winner of that match will advance to the championship final, while the loser will claim third place.

According to the competition regulations, if two or more teams finish with the same number of points,


the ranking will be determined by, points obtained in head-to-head matches, followed by goal difference in those matches. If still tied, overall goal difference from all league matches excluding matches involving withdrawn teams will be considered, followed by total goals scored. If the tie persists, the final ranking will be decided by a draw conducted in the presence of representatives of the tied teams.


Regarding player registration, each club is allowed to register 24 players on the general roster, with the option to field youth players during the competition. Teams must submit a list of 16 players and four officials to the referees before each match. A team arriving more than 15 minutes late will lose the


match 10–0 and losses will also be enforced in cases of fielding suspended players, withdrawal,


disruptive behaviour, or refusal to comply with referee decisions. Clubs are held responsible for the


conduct of their supporters and referee decisions are final and non-contestable.


The league champions will receive a commemorative shield, 28 gold medals and a cash prize of


RO 3,000. The runners-up will earn 28 silver medals and RO 2,000, while the third placed team will


receive 28 bronze medals and RO 1,000.
