MUSCAT: Khalid bin Hilal al Maawali, Chairman of Majlis Ash’shura, received on Tuesday Yasser Mohamed Ahmed Shaaban, Ambassador of Egypt to the Sultanate of Oman.


The chairman welcomed the ambassador, highlighting the deep historical ties between Oman and Egypt, and the continuous progress in their relations reflecting the commitment of both leaderships to strengthening coordination across various fields, particularly in parliamentary and legislative areas.


The Egyptian ambassador expressed his pride in the fraternal relations between the two countries, noting Egypt’s aspiration to further develop joint cooperation and open new avenues for parliamentary, economic and cultural coordination. They also reviewed a number of issues of mutual interest and discussed ways to enhance future cooperation in a manner that serves shared interests and supports the Omani-Egyptian relations across various sectors.


Al Maawali also received Hratchya Poladian, Ambassador of Armenia to Oman, in a meeting aimed at strengthening avenues of cooperation between the two friendly nations.

The Armenian ambassador underscored the importance of enhancing bilateral cooperation, noting the constructive role played by Oman in supporting dialogue and international partnership.


They discussed a number of issues of mutual interest, in addition to exploring future areas of cooperation in ways that serve the mutual interests of Oman and Armenia.


In another meeting, Al Maawali met Abdesalam Khatimov, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Oman, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral relations between the two friendly countries.


The chairman welcomed the ambassador, praising the level of Omani-Uzbek relations and the continuous progress they are witnessing across various fields. He affirmed the Majlis Ash’shura’s keenness to support initiatives aimed at enhancing cooperation in the legislative sphere and promoting the exchange of expertise in a manner that serves the shared interests of both countries.
