

Muscat: The organising committee of Bidiya Carnival 2025 has released the full programme for this year’s winter tourism season in the Wilayat of Bidiya, with activities scheduled from November 19 to 29.
Faishal bin Humaid al Hajri, Chairman of Bidiya Club for Car Racing, said the carnival is being organised by the club in cooperation with the Oman Automobile Association, under the supervision of the Office of the Governor of North al Sharqiyah. A number of public and private sector institutions, in addition to civil society organisations, are also taking part in the organisation.
He said the 2025 edition features more than 14 events, ranging from motor sport championships and challenge competitions to traditional games, horse and camel shows, a consumer exhibition, musical and poetry evenings, and a community sports march.
The programme includes dedicated pavilions for the General Directorate of Agricultural Wealth and Water Resources in North Al Sharqiyah, the Environment Authority and the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism. A village for small and medium enterprises will also open, along with a consumer exhibition offering companies and entrepreneurs a platform to promote their products to visitors and tourists from inside and outside the Sultanate of Oman.
Al Hajri added that this year’s activities include an arts and poetry evenings, featuring Omani and Saudi performers, as well as Bidiya Sky, which will showcase paragliding, kite flying, remote-controlled aviation and a 5-km march. An exhibition themed on tourism, innovation and camping will also be held.
The main attraction of the carnival, he said, is the motor sport championship, particularly the “Burnout and Backfire” challenge, which is expected to draw strong participation from enthusiasts following an increase in prize awards across categories.
