Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) announced guidelines for the Omani passport renewal service at Muscat International Airport, a facility that will be available strictly for emergency and exceptional cases.

According to the ROP, the service may only be provided when the passport’s validity is less than six months at the time of application. Applicants are also required to present a confirmed travel ticket, as preliminary or unconfirmed bookings will not be accepted.

The authorities stressed that the service is limited exclusively to urgent and exceptional situations. Applicants must submit original documents proving the nature of the emergency, such as medical reports, official memoranda, or urgent travel documentation.

The ROP emphasised that this provision does not replace the standard procedures carried out at police service centres. It is offered solely within its defined scope and in accordance with the approved regulations.
